I only watched this because of the cast (Saffron Burrows, Jamie Chung, Jennifer Morrison, Julie Bowen, yes, I am indeed male, lol) but I was thoroughly entertained with the humour in this (mild mannered) Political Satire. Now I’m from the UK and I got all the in jokes so why are the critics kicking this decent movies teeth in? Anyhoo, the acting in this was great and watching the political sidestepping and back biting was funny because although there was nothing truly original it was done brilliantly. Rob Lowe plays Paul, a political fixer and we follow him as he deals with some of his client’s troubles which I found both interesting and very funny most of the time. Jamie Chung played the assistant really well and was probably better in this than anything I’ve seen her in like the truly awful ‘Man With The Iron Fists’. One of her tasks is keeping an eye on the media for news and also when they do those political broadcasts that tell how sleazy the other guy is. Those things are amazing and in bad taste if you ask me but I’m a Brit so I don’t see those things over here (yet) and what I know about US politics you could write on an Ants testicles. This has a great cast and I actually knew most of them which is unusual for a low budget movie and everyone, without exception was great. I really liked the script and checking on IMDb I see it’s written/directed by Bill Guttentag who I don’t know and have never seen his work but I thought this was particularly well done. The cinematography was always interesting as were the characters so I was entertained from the very start. I honestly don’t understand why this film isn’t liked more but hey, to each their own. I may like the show just as much as it irritates the hell out of me. To be honest I don’t really know what I do like about it. The way the storyline is written is flat out ridicules. The main characters especially Serena, Nate, Dan and Vanessa, fall in and out of love at any second. The most dumb lies are believed. And minds are changed by the flick of the wrist. Nobody can be trusted, they all screw each other (physically and mentally) they believe the most obvious lies that are being told (I know I said it already, but it’s ridiculous!) And some people get away with everything and anything! Mostly Serena and Blair of course. And still I can’t hate it. It’s a show you need to watch and don’t think. Seriously, do NOT try too figure out if there is any realism in it… because there isn’t any. And don’t get me started on the fashion and riches, but that’s a personal thing. It’s not for me, so I can only think: The poor people who have too wear those horrible outfits and pretend to be so awful. Verdict: This show is pretty bad, but strangely addictive.

I saw this film at the Sydney film festival, and I really loved it. The acting is great, especially the young cast who all give very emotionally mature performances. The film walks a line between an accurately detailed portrayal of an historical past, and a personal and emotional journey of an individual (namely Lore played beautifully by Saskia Rosendahl). I am pleased to say it does this very cleverly, always holding these two at an appropriate tension, which results in an honest empathy between us and the characters. I would highly recommend you watch this film.

I was pleasantly surprised after viewing Fat Kid… I too grew up chubby and withdrawn. I was attracted to characters like Marcus in my own life. Matt O’Leary plays a high powered, reckless poetic and tragic figure. A real hustler, and user of people. Jacob Wysoki who plays the part of Troy,is an excellent actor. He says so much with facial expressions, and he seems naive, but genuine. I grew up playing Rock music, it became my career and I have no regrets. I only wish I had the kind of love and support Troys character enjoyed. The father ,played by Billy Campbell was so understanding, and nurturing. Obviously making up for the lack of a mother in the home. I recommend this sweet and positive film. They are so rare and hard to come by. It was sentimental without being sappy.

I see the words “cult classic” in this movie’s future. At the very least, I’ll be adding this to my collection of movies such as Kick Ass, Pulp Fiction, Zombieland and Hot Fuzz that I love to watch over and over. You know from the very first scene that this is not your typical Hollywood junk. It was HYSTERICAL, albeit in a pretty sick and twisted way – this is not for the faint of heart. The woman behind me must not have seen the previews, because she got up and left. I’m going to have to see it again this weekend just to catch some of the witty one-liners that I couldn’t hear over the roaring laughter. The audience even applauded when it ended. The script is razor sharp, and you couldn’t dream up a better cast to bring it to life. I’ve always liked Sam Rockwell, but this was a star-making turn for him (at least in my book). You’ve never seen a movie quite like this. I see a new movie nearly every week, and I rarely feel compelled to sit down and write a review. So take my advice, do yourself a favor and go see it!
